This past January, we welcomed Philip Carroll, Sales Manager at Carahsoft, to talk about Vasion's FedRAMP High Authorization and what it means for the customers and partners we serve together. Vasion is now one of the few print management solutions authorized at the highest FedRAMP tier. We'll break down what that means and why it matters below.
But this episode isn't just about an authorization. It's about what happens when a great product, a strategic partner, and an engaged customer all find each other. Carahsoft has been that connector for Vasion—helping the right conversations happen with the right people. Philip gives us a candid look at what that partnership looks like from his side of the table.

Who Is Carahsoft?

Carahsoft is an IT solutions distributor with 20+ years of experience serving federal, state, and local governments, and educational institutions. They help technology vendors reach the right customers and help customers find the right solutions.
Philip Carroll, Sales Manager and Team Lead, oversees a team of 30+ account managers and business development reps who are on the front lines of those conversations every day. His focus is the big picture: making sure his team has what they need, and that vendors like Vasion are set up for success.
Vasion and Carahsoft have been working together for nearly three years, and the partnership has been built on collaboration and a shared commitment to the customer. Philip characterizes it as a "true joy"—pointing to Vasion's willingness to always dive in when needs arise, and offering unique approaches and solutions. What unites both companies is a simple shared focus: understanding the customer's pain points and committing to building a great solution for them.

What Is FedRAMP High and Why Does It Matter?

FedRAMP is a government program designed to standardize the security assessment and authorization of cloud products—making it easier for federal agencies to adopt modern technology without compromising on risk management. As agencies face increased pressure to modernize, the FedRAMP marketplace provides a straightforward way to find solutions that meet those standards.
FedRAMP grants authorization across three impact levels: low, moderate, and high. Each level is evaluated against three security objectives: confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Achieving FedRAMP High authorization is rare because it requires the most stringent standards for protecting the government's most sensitive data.
FedRAMP High is more than a checkbox for government agencies. It signals a security standard that the broader market increasingly demands. As Philip puts it: "It opens doors" for government agencies that simply cannot buy cloud solutions without it, but it also extends to banking and healthcare, industries which also prefer to buy "FedRAMP authorized" solutions.
Customers in these industries are "willing to pay a premium for a FedRAMP solution" because it not only gives them a chance to modernize, but it allows them to do so securely.

What This Unlocks For Vasion And Carahsoft Customers

Federal agencies often run close to a decade behind commercial industries—not from a lack of wanting to modernize, but because of the firm security standards they are required to meet. The bar is high, and for good reason.
FedRAMP High Authorization clears that bar. It gives federal agencies and other regulated industries the confidence to move forward with print modernization, knowing the solution has been vetted at the most stringent FedRAMP security level. And for Carahsoft, it means they can now actively market Vasion into segments that were previously out of reach.
Philip noted that Carahsoft doesn't support another print management vendor that does what Vasion does at this security standard—making FedRAMP High a true differentiator in the market. Many vendors don't hold High authorization, or any FedRAMP authorization at all, which creates a real challenge for IT resellers trying to match customers with the right solution. Curious how Carahsoft navigates that? Philip gets into it in the podcast episode.

A Partnership Built On More Than Revenue

On paper, working with an IT distributor is about expanding your reach through resale. And by that measure alone, the Vasion and Carahsoft partnership speaks for itself—Carahsoft saw 300%+ revenue growth with Vasion in 2025, with similar growth expected in 2026. That trajectory is only going to accelerate. Carahsoft typically sees ~84% average growth in federal sales for companies achieving FedRAMP Moderate authorization. Vasion has achieved High.
But the numbers are a byproduct of something deeper. This partnership works because both companies are genuinely invested in enabling each other. Carahsoft makes certain their account managers and business development representatives have the resources they need to communicate Vasion's value proposition. That kind of enablement doesn't happen without a vendor who shows up—and Vasion does.
It also works because both companies are committed to solving problems as they evolve. Customer needs don't change once—they change constantly. When Vasion identified that MSP partners were struggling with licensing flexibility, they didn't sit on it. They brought the challenge to Carahsoft, and together they're building a solution. That's what a real partnership looks like: not just closing deals, but making sure the customer experience on the other side of that deal is the best it can be.

Looking Ahead in 2026

The technology landscape never sits still—and neither do Vasion and Carahsoft. Not long ago, federal agencies were hesitant to move to the cloud. Now, everyone wants to. The next wave is already here, and Philip has some candid thoughts on what that means for security. We'll let him tell you that part.
What we can say is this: with FedRAMP High Authorization, Vasion and Carahsoft are positioned to reach federal customers they've never been able to before—and to keep solving problems for the ones they already serve. 2026 is shaping up to be a big year.
