Kingston Healthcare Company Customer Story

Vasion Team

Kingston Healthcare Company offers 14 senior living communities across the United States, providing independent and assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and memory care services. With a dedicated team of thousands of healthcare professionals and aides, Kingston Healthcare ensures quality care for residents across its senior living communities, rehabilitation centers, and memory care homes.

The Challenges Kingston Faced

Healthcare requires a lot of printing. Kingston, for example, was printing around 300,000 pages of documents each month, relying on print servers at each location. However, in 2021, the PrintNightmare vulnerability turned print servers into a security risk.

Manually Installing Printers

Without print servers, Kingston’s IT team had to configure each device manually. Whenever an employee needed printer access, a technician had to install the necessary software and set up the connection.

Excessive IT Tickets

The IT team handled up to six print-related helpdesk tickets daily, which made the installation process time-consuming for administrators and inconvenient for users—especially those who traveled between locations.

Security Vulnerabilities

PrintNightmare exposed print servers’ vulnerabilities, making printing very difficult for Kingston. The solutions offered weren’t enough to keep their systems secure and reliable.

Vasion’s Solution to Kingston Healthcare’s Problems

Vasion Print was the clear choice for Kingston Healthcare because it’s simple to manage, easy to use, and offers advanced security features to safeguard Kingston’s data during printing. Most importantly, it efficiently supports Kingston’s high-volume printing demands.
Unlike other solutions, Vasion Print charges per queue rather than per page, helping Kingston Healthcare keep costs under control.
Their Vasion Print instance lives on a SaaS solution that’s also integrated with 60+ AWS technologies such as VPC, EC2, and S3. The powerful partnership between Vasion and AWS has streamlined Kingston Healthcare’s print consolidation and management, freeing their administrative team to concentrate on challenges elsewhere in their IT environment.

Kingston Healthcare’s Results

With Vasion Print, Kingston Healthcare no longer has to worry about PrintNightmare or manually installing printers.
Eliminating around 15 print servers across the organization saves them approximately $70,000 annually in hosting, support, and licensing costs. The IT team has implemented Vasion Print’s Self-Service Installation Portal so that end users who travel between locations can quickly and easily connect to printers at every Kingston Healthcare location. Print-related helpdesk tickets are no longer an issue, freeing up over 500 hours annually for the IT team.
