Output management (OM) systems first appeared in the 1980s, the same decade as personal computers, Nintendo Game Boys, and CDs. Just as technology has advanced to combine a computer, gaming console, and endless CDs on one device in the palm of your hand, output management has evolved to unify end user and system-level print into a single platform, allowing you to automate, streamline, and elevate your print processes—all from the cloud.
The Problem With Traditional Output Management
Traditional output management was designed to route information to the correct recipient as quickly as possible. This looks like managing documents and print jobs through manual processes where OM providers are typically on-premise, requiring extensive hardware and maintenance while dealing with archaic print servers and outdated infrastructure.
Output Automation With PrinterLogic Output
PrinterLogic’s Output Automation modernizes and fully automates the output process with a cloud-native solution that routes, converts, and delivers documents without manual intervention. As part of the PrinterLogic Output solution, organizations can streamline their entire document process from back-office to front-office printing without complexities or workarounds.
Upgrading from output management to Output Automation is like switching from a broom and dustpan to a high-powered vacuum.
But before making any big decision, it’s important to compare your options.
7 Ways PrinterLogic Output Outperforms Other OM Solutions:
1. High Availability
Competitors:
Require expensive on-prem servers for failover protections—often involves having to purchase additional servers—leading to longer downtime and added costs.
Vasion:
Ensures uninterrupted operations with automated failover mechanisms that instantly redirect print jobs in the event of printer failure. Includes a lightweight, self-updating service that runs on your network to process and route print jobs from EMR/EHR/ERP systems, while offloading complex processing and rule execution to the cloud.
2. Scalability
Competitors:
Struggle to integrate legacy systems with modern applications, often forcing on-prem features into the cloud, adding to costs and reducing functionality.
Vasion:
Built with a cloud-native mentality that is easy to maintain, scales with you, and connects with modern applications.
3. Unified Print Environment
Competitors:
Stuck with maintaining disconnected systems and an overcomplicated tech stack with low visibility.
Vasion:
Brings end user and system-level printing together in a single, centralized platform, cutting down on multiple disconnected systems and providing unparalleled visibility.
4. Rule-Based Automation
Competitors:
Output processes require manual maintenance and troubleshooting for print errors, eating up IT bandwidth and resources. Manual workarounds are required to create automations or connect into other systems.
Vasion:
Automates printing processes seamlessly by implementing no-code workflows to apply rules based on print job criteria reducing human error, and improving efficiency through all print processes.
5. Implementation and Support
Competitors:
Require hefty configuration periods, server setup, and extensive customization that interrupt and delay operations.
Vasion:
Offers a ready-to-use solution that’s quick to get up and running with an award-winning, round-the-clock support team dedicated to making setup a seamless experience.
6. Robust Security
Competitors:
Lack end-to-end encryption and often fail to meet industry compliance standards, putting your sensitive data at risk.
Vasion:
Secures sensitive data and meets ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance standards. Ensures documents remain protected at every stage with built-in secure release methods, integrated security features, and a Zero Trust approach.
7. Ease of Use
Competitors:
Complex systems with archaic interfaces that aren’t user-friendly. Require manual scripting and GPOs, workarounds to integrate with other systems, and significant IT oversight that drains budget.
Vasion:
Features a seamless, modern, and intuitive central interface that empowers end users to be proactive in managing their print environment. Includes scalable, no-code workflow engine that intelligently routes, converts, and delivers documents without intervention, reducing reliance on your IT team and enhancing overall efficiency and productivity.
Stop sinking time and resources into maintaining outdated legacy systems that eat up your time, budget, and energy. Instead, level up your output management by automating your critical print and document processes from a single, highly available, and efficient cloud-native solution.
