What is the difference between output management and Output Automation?

Output management involves traditional, often manual methods of managing document flows and print jobs, typically using on-premise solutions and hardware. In contrast, OutputLogic offers Output Automation, which fully automates and future-proofs the entire output process within a cloud-native solution. It offers intelligent routing, conversion, and delivery of documents without manual intervention, resulting in greater efficiency and scalability.

What is output management?

Output management is how organizations control the delivery of documents at scale. Bills, statements, reports, compliance documents — output management software handles how they get formatted, routed, and delivered across print, email, fax, and digital channels automatically. Without it, enterprise teams are stuck managing delivery rules manually across a dozen different business systems. Vasion's output management platform connects to the systems you already run and takes the entire delivery process off your plate.

How do I connect my business-critical systems and applications?

OutputLogic utilizes the line printer daemon (LPD) or HTTPS protocols or APIs that work with a Service Client to receive documents from your systems and route them where they need to go, based on settings and predetermined criteria.

The API Service also extends this capability to on-prem or cloud-based applications. Our API easily connects your system to route and deliver documents to your desired destinations, all with the same level of control and visibility.

What endpoint operating systems are supported?

We embrace an agnostic approach to endpoint operating systems, providing compatibility to cater to diverse user needs. This flexibility allows seamless integration across various environments, regardless of your specific setup. Does the printing experience change for the end user with OutputLogic?

There is no change for the user when it comes to sending a print job. Secure Release Printing through the Release Portal and Control Panel Application remains intuitive for end users.

Can I print EHR jobs with Secure Release and Off-Network Printing without licensing OutputLogic?

OutputLogic is required to receive print jobs from EMR/ERP systems to connect with PrinterLogic’s front-end printing capabilities. Vasion’s Advanced Security Add-on can extend to these back-end EHR systems with OutputLogic to offer additional security features like Secure Release Printing and Off-Network Printing. This ensures only authorized users can access and print sensitive documents while still enabling fast, efficient printing.

What Vasion delivery models support OutputLogic?

OutputLogic is supported in the Virtual Appliance and SaaS offering. SaaS offers the most flexibility in terms of available features and configuration options. OutputLogic is not supported on previous legacy on-prem versions.

How can I license OutputLogic for my environment?

OutputLogic is licensed per print queue that utilizes Output. Secure Release and Off-Network Printing can also be added with the Advanced Security Add-on.
