Vasion announced a strategic integration with Imprivata today, the leading digital identity and access management company for life- and mission-critical industries. The integration brings Imprivata Enterprise Access Management (EAM) directly into the Vasion Platform, extending the trusted identity layer healthcare organizations already rely on to every printer in their fleet.
Shared customers use the same Imprivata-enrolled badge to securely authenticate at the workstation and at the printer. Print jobs stay held in a secure queue until the right person picks them up. PHI never sits unattended on an output tray. Every release is logged, verified, and audit-ready.

Why The Vasion and Imprivata Integration Matters

Healthcare IT teams have spent years securing workstation access, deploying SSO, and rolling out identity management across clinical environments. The printer has been the gap. Quocirca's 2025 Print Security Landscape study found that 56% of organizations suffered a print-related data loss in the past  year, with print security budgets projected to grow 13% in the year ahead.
The cost of that gap in healthcare isn't just compliance exposure. Discharge papers, medication labels, and care plans left unclaimed on printer trays represent real risk to patient safety. And while most identity strategies stop at the workstation, now Vasion and Imprivata ensure they don’t.

How the PrinterLogic and Imprivata Integration Works

A clinician sends a print job and PrinterLogic retrieves their badge identity via Imprivata EAM, holding the job in a secure queue. They tap their badge at any networked printer, across shared kiosks, individual workstations, or mixed fleet environments, and PrinterLogic releases only their documents to them.
IT teams get a straightforward deployment. PrinterLogic and PrinterLogic Output auto-detects whether Imprivata is running and non-Imprivata workstations fall back to standard authentication automatically. No per-device reconfiguration and no rip-and-replace required.

What Shared Customers Get

Secure badge-based print release. One tap at any printer. PHI never sits unclaimed on a tray. Works across every environment in your fleet.
No new infrastructure. Vasion extends the Imprivata deployment you already have. Adding print security doesn't mean adding complexity.
Complete audit and compliance visibility. Every badge authentication event is logged, giving IT full insight into who printed what, when, and where, supporting HIPAA audit requirements and beyond.

Built on a Zero Trust Foundation

The joint solution is built on Zero Trust architecture of PrinterLogic and PrinterLogic Output, and includes AI-powered redaction of PHI, and job-level audit logging across the entire fleet. Healthcare organizations and regulated government agencies can count on being backed by Vasion's ISO 42001 and ISO 27001 certifications, SOC 2 Type 2 report, and FedRAMP® High Authorization to Operate.
