Frequently Asked Questions
Is Mobile Printing and Mobile Scanning from my device secure?
Yes. In addition, smartphones typically use biometrics (fingerprint or facial recognition) for authentication. Users are required to authenticate their identity when logging in to the app with user credentials and passwords or a configured IdP for your Vasion Print environment before accessing any printing and scanning features and documents.
When the app is used to release print jobs that originate on a desktop computer in particular, those print jobs are never sent to the phone. They stay on the computer until they are released. Upon release, they travel directly to the printer.
What Identity and Access Management services (IdPs) are supported?
The Vasion App supports the same IdPs as our SaaS and VA platforms. This includes Active Directory, Okta, Entra ID, Google ID, PingOne, PingFederate, OneLogin, Idaptive, JumpCloud, and ForgeRock
What is the difference between Mobile Printing and Mobile App Release?
Mobile Printing is part of Vasion Print’s core functionality that includes direct IP printing for all endpoint operating systems, including iOS and Android. Mobile App Release, on the other hand, is a Secure Release Printing feature and is only available through the Advanced Security Add-on.
Does the Vasion App support Microsoft Intune-managed devices?
Yes. The Vasion App now includes native support for Microsoft Intune, allowing secure printing from Intune-managed iOS and Android devices, without custom configurations or additional apps. Check out our documentation for more information.
